What's the difference between gland packing and encapsulated O-rings? Which one should I use?

Gland packing is braided fiber for dynamic sealing on pump/valve stems – handles higher speeds. Encapsulated O-rings (FEP/PFA over silicone/FKM) are for static or low-speed sealing where chemical resistance and cleanliness are critical. Tell us your application, and we'll recommend.
What materials can you use for gland packing?

PTFE, expanded graphite, aramid, carbon fiber, and blends (e.g., graphite with Inconel wire). We can also source branded raw materials like DuPont or Daikin upon request.
What's the temperature range for encapsulated O-rings?

Silicone core + FEP: -60°C to 205°C.
Silicone + PFA: -60°C to 260°C.
FKM core + FEP/PFA: -20°C to 260°C.

Can encapsulated O-rings be used in FDA-regulated applications?

Yes. Our FEP/PFA encapsulation with silicone core meets FDA 21 CFR 177.1550 and USP Class VI. Declaration letter available with each shipment.
Do you make non-standard sizes or non-circular shapes?

Yes. Any cross section (round, rectangular, oval). Non-circular shapes like square frames or custom gaskets also available. No mold fee for most standard customization.
What is your sample policy?

Sample ready in 3–7 days. Sample fee applies for complex tooling but is fully deductible from bulk order. Free DFM feedback regardless.
Can you put my logo on the seals?

Yes – permanent printing on encapsulation layer or packing ends. Your brand or part number. No extra design fee for simple logos.
Do you provide quality inspection reports?

Yes. Every batch comes with a QC report including dimensions, hardness (for O-rings), density (for packing), and traceability code. Third-party inspection (SGS/BV) is also supported.
What certificates do you hold?

ISO 9001:2015, National High-Tech Enterprise, FDA test reports for material compliance, and multiple patents in sealing technology. PDFs available upon request.
How do you ensure no seam or pinhole on encapsulated O-rings?

Each batch is inspected under microscope. Our seamless encapsulation process eliminates pinholes and overlaps – no leakage risk.
What's your MOQ?

No fixed MOQ for trial orders. For production, typical MOQ is 100–500 pieces for encapsulated O-rings (depending on size) and 10kg for gland packing. Lower MOQ possible – just ask.
What's your lead time? Do you offer mold storage?

Sample: 3–7 days. Bulk: 15–30 days depending on quantity. Yes, we store and maintain your molds for free – ready whenever you reorder.
